As many of you may be aware I set out to record the history of two distinct regions of fishing tackle manufacturing: Nottingham and the Isle of Wight.
Men of Trent and Trentmen completed the story of Nottingham. The Dreadnought Casting Reel Company was the first part covering the fishing reels of the company and its later transformation to Percy Wadham Specialities.
This final book will not be published but with all the research, travelling and time spent seeking out the story it would be a crime to let it all disappear.
I have therefore decided to place it on this website. Here you will find the links to the Excel spreadsheets listing all the baits, all the colours and all the sizes together with the years that they were launched either in the catalogues or press announcements and when they disappeared from the catalogues.
I will explain how the baits were manufactured, what the packaging was, and how to date the packaging. Also included will be flies, spoons, floats, and the hundreds of accessories the company manufactured, not only those under its own name but also for other companies.
Hopefully, there will be enough information here to stimulate your curiosity.
